Fascism isn't a form of gov, it's about who is in that government. Hitler was a right-wing fascist, Stalin was a left-wing fascist but the atrocities aren't coming from Communism (as it was intended) it happened because of a fascist leader.

I am hopeful that COVID-19 has helped to unseat this charismatic (and yes, even his detractors should be able to admit he is charismatic) strongman has served the purposes of money up to this point.

Yes, the American oligarchs would like a more reliable wannabe despot next time. They are grooming Tucker Carlson.

I am still hopeful that this president will not be re-elected. And that the real deep state -- that is the lifelong civil servants who are not elected but make our gov run -- and the military will not allow him to stay illegally when he is not re-elected.

But we must remember -- although fascism is not an inevitable end of free-market capitalism, they are very good friends. Profit-incentive drives the neo-libs to tacitly, maybe inadvertently, support and validate Trump. He may be horrifying but he's interesting.

Capitalism and Fascism tend to get along very well. Up until the moment the fascist leader seizes businesses and takes all the profits.
