JK has the distinction of having been a living legend, a treasured part of many peoples' childhoods. It was a hard thing to break -- but she did it. She could have just stayed in her castle and cranked out a short story once/year (Neville goes to a Muggle zoo, Ron and Hermione celebrate Christmas with their kids, etc.) and we would have eaten it up. But no, she had to go and ruin it for everyone.
